Bildungsurlaub is an educational program that enables German nationals to participate in seminars in other countries with a grant or full scholarship.
One option is to attend Bildungsurlaub English courses in Malta and Gozo. We’re happy to share that our English schools in Malta (St.Paul’s Bay) and Gozo (Kercem) hold various Bildungsurlaub recognisations.

What type of English courses are valid for Bildungsurlaub?
The requirements for English courses to be recognised as “Bildungsurlaub” in Malta and Gozo vary from state to state. Some states require an intensive English course, while others require a combination of English courses with a cultural immersion programme. It’s also possible to add a bundle of personalised business individual lessons focusing on your specific industry and role. At BELS Malta and Gozo, we offer both options and are recognised in various states across Germany.
What’s the duration of the course and trip?
The minimum stay is a 5-day course, and it’s also possible to stay for 10 days. You’ll have lessons from Monday to Friday, nd the weekends are free for you to explore and join activities.
At BELS Malta and Gozo, we offer a complete package, including accommodation and airport transfers. Arrival and departure are possible on either Saturday or Sunday, and each week includes seven nights.
We highly recommend joining us in our student residences for a completely immersive experience and to become an active part of our student community. If you prefer private accommodation and taking courses only with us, that’s also possible. We can also assist in booking a hotel near the school.

How can I book my trip with BELS?
You can complete your registration directly with us online. First, you can create a quotation using our online tool and then reply to our email to complete your registration. If you prefer to speak with one of our representatives, write to us with your preferred dates, school, and preferred school location (Malta or Gozo). We will reply with a personalised quotation and the next steps to register.

General English Intensive
Includes 30 lessons / 22.5 hours per week on our General Intensive group courses, focusing on developing your overall level of English in a communicative classroom environment.
General & Business English
Includes 25 (18.75 hours) or 30 lessons (22.5 hours) per week, combining General English group courses with tailor-made business English lessons based on your specific needs.
English & Cultural Programme
Includes 30 lessons / 22.5 hours per week on our General Intensive group courses and a cultural programme to learn about the islands’ history, culture, and heritage with fellow students.
