Our English for shop assistants and cashiers course is designed to provide workers with the confidence and skills required to assist, engage and retain clients. By developing business English and communication skills, staff members will be in a better position to deal with clients in the store, build meaningful client relationships and upsell. The content tackles common day-to-day duties and is also personalised depending on the type and size of business.
The first part of the course focuses on client interaction across a various daily situations including assisting clients with typical enquiries, getting to know client needs to support them better, guiding customers to products in the store, explaining payment and return policies and provide customer service. Students will develop their functional language skills for improved accuracy and fluency.
Another aspect covered in the course relates to the product and polite upselling techniques through conscious use of language. We will explore language and sales techniques to describe products, their use and highlighting its benefits.
Our trainers will prepare suitable material depending on the role specific company. Lessons are based on language input followed by practice in the form of role-plays, presentations, dialogues and other interactive activities. Our trainers will monitor and error-correct throughout to encourage accurate and fluent use of the language.
